Robert Fathke & Debora Weiss, Class of 2015
"Prior to entering the veterinary medicine program at VA-MD Vet Med, we lived in Washington, DC and worked in public health. As a married couple, we were concerned about our adjustment to life in a smaller town and how the rigors of the veterinary curriculum might affect our relationship. But our transition to life here has been very smooth thanks to support from the faculty, staff, and our fellow students. Having one another as study partners and as sources of motivation and encouragement is an added bonus.
We are thoroughly enjoying our time at VA-MD Vet Med, and we are impressed by the sense of community and by the array of extracurricular activities and leadership opportunities available to students.
Finally, we have been very pleased with the Blacksburg area in general, especially with regard to its cozy feeling and access to outdoor activities, including equestrianism and hiking. Indeed, we feel fortunate to be a part of the VA-MD Vet Med experience, and we are very appreciative of how the veterinary school has accommodated our unique situation."
